Lexmark Baby Days still going strong

Johannesburg, 23 Jun 2006

Lexmark International South Africa is pleased to affirm its continued commitment to the South African community and environment through CRIB, the Cartridge Recycling Initiative for Babies. Lexmark donated a total of 966 Baby Days to Cotlands for quarter one of 2006.

As part of Lexmark`s Siyaphambili Initiative, CRIB aims to recover all used ink and toner cartridges from customers, recycle them in an environmentally responsible manner, and most importantly, make a valuable monetary contribution towards charities in need in the form of Baby Days.

The massively successful cartridge recycling initiative has provided over 25 000 Baby Days since its inception in April 2002, as well as the successful recycling of over 70 tons of plastic.

Says Hans Horn, Managing Director of Lexmark South Africa: "CRIB is a project that has always been taken very seriously within our own company, and the support and participation of our partners, resellers and customers has been invaluable in making the CRIB initiative the thriving community investment project it has become."

He concludes: "As a corporate citizen and believer in a changing society, Lexmark accepts that building a better South Africa is a standing obligation. It is the business of all individuals and organisations that draws wealth in South Africa. Children are the future of our nation and it is our responsibility to ensure these children have the opportunity to grow into the leaders of tomorrow."
