Lexmark, Box.net launch Scan to Box SmartSolution for companies “in the cloud”

Johannesburg, 16 Sep 2010

Lexmark International, a leading global provider of imaging products, software, solutions and services, and Box.net, a popular supplier of cloud management solutions, today announced the availability of the Box.net SmartSolution for Lexmark's Web-connected all-in-one (AIO) inkjet printers: Platinum, Pinnacle, Prestige and Interact.

The solution, termed Scan to Box, is ideal for small to medium size business (SME) users interested in saving time and money when it comes to managing their information in the cloud.

Companies are increasingly turning to the cloud to access, share and collaborate on their content online. Scan to Box will enable these companies to further streamline their business operations by connecting their Lexmark printers directly to their Box.net accounts. Users can even set up multiple Scan to Box solutions mapped directly to their respective Box.net folders.

With Scan to Box, users can upload and store important documents directly from their printer to their Box.net account in a matter of seconds, without even turning on their computer.

The SmartSolution enables:
* Easy uploading of documents for business collaboration;
* Scanning and uploading of business receipts and documents for safe storage; and
* Seamless uploading and transfer of information to business associates.
