Lexmark International South Africa has today introduced locally the Lexmark C920, an A3 high-performance colour laser printer with value-added features delivering superior quality and ease of use.
The Lexmark C920 is capable of printing up to 36 pages per minutes (ppm) in monochrome and up to 32ppm in colour. A powerful 1GHz processor - larger than any competitive models - and an optional memory upgrade produce a time-to-first-page rating as fast as 9.5 seconds for monochrome print jobs and 13.5 seconds for colour.
Its fast output is complemented by its superior print quality. The Lexmark C920 features 2400 Image Quality for vibrant colour images and business graphics, and its colour science technology provides output that is suitable for simulated pre-press layouts or finished business materials.
"With superb performance, intuitive ease of use and superior print quality, the Lexmark C920 is the perfect choice for business customers who need high-volume colour printing for either general office or demanding applications," says Hans Horn, Managing Director of Lexmark South Africa.
"Customers with those needs will also appreciate the C920`s security benefits and enhanced serviceability - making it the easy choice for business customers."
Ease of use
The Lexmark C920 includes a wide range of value-added features, such as:
* An intuitive, backlit user interface with 10-digit numeric keypad and graphics that coach the user through specific printing and maintenance functions.
* A convenient USB Direct interface on the operator panel for easy PDF printing directly from flash memory devices which allows users to quickly and easily print documents "PC-free" simply by walking up to the printer and inserting their memory device.
* Enhanced serviceability and quicker problem resolution through easy to understand on-screen messages.
* New standard security features including intuitive, confidential document printing.
All of these features are also available on the Lexmark W840 announced today.
The Lexmark C920 also offers advanced paper handling options, including input capacity of up to 5 300 sheets. It can print various sizes of documents, from A6 to A3, and even large banners 120cm long.
Cost management
The Lexmark C920 gives businesses expanded control of the utilisation of colour printing with a wide spectrum of unique colour management tools called Colour Care Technology. These tools allow companies to configure the Lexmark C920 so that only authorised users - identified by their network ID - can print in colour. Similarly, the printer has special colour saver and toner saver modes to reduce the usage of colour toner. It even features a coverage estimator that allows users to estimate the cost of printing each colour page.
Serviceability and security
The Lexmark C920 makes service by the customer easier than ever before with easy to understand graphics that walk the end-user through common corrections. Most situations are remedied with a "show me" screen that provides the user with an illustration of the area that needs to be addressed. Many situations also have a "tell me more" screen, which walks the user through specific adjustments, such as changing the size guides for a paper tray.
The Lexmark C920 also includes several new standard features for customers concerned with document and network security. Confidential print jobs can be stored in the printer and then easily released later by using the intuitive user interface and the 10-digit numeric pad. Print jobs can be further protected by using encryption capabilities for the optional hard disk drive.
