Lexmark makes high-quality, home photo printing easier than ever

Lexmark redefines ease-of-use and affordability for inkjet printers
Johannesburg, 14 Sep 2005

Lexmark South Africa has announced the local availability of four new printers featuring high-quality photo capabilities that redefine ease-of-use and affordability in the home printing market.

Designed to deliver value to everyday users, the Lexmark X2350 All-in-One (AIO) and the Lexmark Z735 are designed to respond to the needs of a key group of consumers who want a basic, easy-to-use printer with low-cost supplies.

Both printers use the specially designed #1 cartridge to produce brilliant photos, vibrant colour graphics and text with a single technology-rich cartridge, eliminating the need for multiple cartridge "swapping".

In addition, with a larger swath and more nozzles than previous entry-level models, these printers feature one of the fastest colour speeds available in their classes - up to 15 pages per minute (ppm) for colour or text documents and 4 x 6-inch photos in as fast as 38 seconds*.

"One source of consumer frustration has been searching for and purchasing multiple printer cartridges for a single printer. With the new X2350 AIO and Z735 inkjet, customers don`t have to worry about the cost or hassle of multiple cartridges anymore. The only supply they need is the Lexmark #1 cartridge," says Hans Horn, Managing Director, Lexmark SA.

Both the Lexmark Z735 and Lexmark X2350 make printing 4 x 6-inch borderless photos a snap, thanks to the exclusive Lexmark Imaging Studio software. This software also includes one-step photo fixes that result in brilliant photos that rival professional prints. The new Lexmark X2350 features one-touch scanning and one-touch copying with or without a PC.

The Lexmark P4350 and Lexmark X3330 AIOs: great photo quality, great functionality, great value.

The Lexmark P4350 makes the photo experience easier by including a 1.7-inch colour LCD screen that provides users with the ability to preview their output in full colour before printing. The Lexmark P4350 also offers:

* Printing from digital cameras via PictBridge and camera cards.
* PC-free photo editing features.
* 4 x 6-inch borderless photos printed as fast as 38 seconds*
* Print speeds of up to 22ppm in black and up to 15ppm in colour.
* Illuminated scan guides to assure proper placement of originals on the flatbed scanner.

The Lexmark X3330 is one of the fastest AIOs in its class with speeds of up to 22ppm in black and up to 15ppm in colour. The Lexmark X3330 also delivers premium features such as the ability to print from digital cameras via PictBridge, resizing functionality ranging from 25% to 400%, one-touch resizing to standard photo sizes, and the ability to scan documents directly to e-mail.

In addition, the Lexmark P4350 use Lexmark Evercolor inks to deliver brilliant photos that can last longer than most traditional photos under display conditions without fading, and more than 200 years stored in photo albums**

* Printing in QuickPrint mode and excluding processing time.

** Based on accelerated fade resistance testing of photos either displayed indoors under glass or stored in photo albums. Photos must be printed on Lexmark Premium Glossy Photo Paper using an Evercolor ink system that includes a Lexmark Colour Cartridge and an Evercolor Photo Cartridge. Actual resistance to fading will vary based upon factors such as light intensity and type, humidity, exposure to moisture, temperature, air quality, drying time, glass, matting, album materials, print media and image.
