Venture Computer, the sole distributor in Southern Africa for Lexmark International, today announced that Lexmark have introduced six new monochrome laser printers that offer complete, technologically-advanced printing solutions that meet the needs of end-users, from individual desktop to high volume printing. Additionally announced are several new multifunction products, as well as enhancements to application solutions and to MarkVision, its industry-leading printer management software. Lexmark have also introduced new, environmentally friendly, high-yield laser printer cartridges that can help to reduce the cost of printing.

The new product line includes the Optra M410, the Optra T610, Optra T612, Optra T614, and Optra T616 and the Optra W810 - all with new features and functionality that deliver superior performance, outstanding print quality and innovative technology.

The Optra M410, a 12-ppm laser printer, is a very affordable networkable laser printer for desktops or small workgroups. With outstanding print quality, it is easy to use and perfect for a host of applications, and provides award-winning Optra S technology and features, such as high print quality, ease of use and networkability.
The Optra T610, an economical 15-ppm laser printer, is a versatile choice for desktop and workgroups that have moderate print volumes.
The Optra T612 is a versatile 20-ppm workgroup laser printer, designed to optimise productivity. The product delivers the first page in a fast 9 seconds.
The Optra T614 is a high volume 25-ppm network laser printer, with the flexibility to perform a wide range of printing applications.
The Optra T616, a space saving, high volume 35-ppm laser printer is designed for high performance network printing.
The Optra T series of laser printers are even faster, smarter and yield better print quality than Lexmark`s award-winning Optra S products. The new printers offer a wide variety of configurations so users can upgrade as their business evolves. The printers share common options, and supplies, including a new 25K high yield print cartridge. New, productivity-increasing options for most models include a 5-bin mailbox and a 1,850-sheet, high-capacity output stacker.
The Optra W810 is a high-volume, wide-format 35 ppm network laser printer with finishing options, that is both expandable and easy to use. It brings high-speed printing at paper sizes up to 11" x 17`` to departments and multi-user workgroups at a very affordable price. Additionally the Optra W810 offers a wide variety of finishing options such as stapling, hole punching and high capacity offset stacking, or a 10-bin mailbox for most types of document finishing that departments and workgroups need.
Network-ready models of the new Optra printers are available with onboard Ethernet 10BaseT/100BaseTX adapters. The Optra T line and Optra W printers can also be upgraded to include copy/scan/fax functions with OptraImage options.
The Optra M, T, and W printers all share common user interfaces and management tools, resulting in increased user productivity and lower training costs because they are easy to install, use and manage. They are compatible with all major network environments and include PostScript 3 and PCL 6 emulations to run with all major software applications. These features provide users the latest in technology across the product line, and reduce the need to purchase additional hardware or software. The printers offer a new "print and hold`` function, which includes a "confidential print`` feature, ideal for printing confidential documents in a shared printer environment.
MarkVision and MarkTrack, Lexmark`s advanced printing management software and asset management/usage tracking software, respectively, reduce cost and help improve network administrator productivity by reducing the support necessary to manage the network printing environment. Other features in Lexmark Optra printers, such as toner saver and print darkness settings, power saver modes, printing multiple pages on a single sheet, and two-sided printing also reduce operating costs.
With this new family of printers Lexmark also announces the MarkNet N2000 series of internal print servers that provide Lexmark printers with industry-leading ease of integration with virtually all network environments. These new multi-protocol MarkNet N2000 internal print servers provide higher performance, extended upgrade capability for support of future network environments and services and an enhanced resident Web server for easy installation and management.
