Lexmark International, Inc has announced five new monochrome multifunction laser printers, the Lexmark X644e, X646dte, X850e, X852e and X854e, with best-in-class features that help enterprise customers work easier, smarter and faster.
All five devices feature a new design of Lexmark`s innovative eTask interface, which can be customised to simplify complicated business processes with the touch of a single icon. The vivid new colour eTask interface is intuitive so users can easily perform basic or advanced tasks without training. It can also be adjusted to each customer`s optimal viewing angle.

With maximum speeds ranging from 35 to 55 pages per minute (ppm), these multifunction printers offer fast, reliable performance that can handle the demands of large workgroups. All five devices feature duplex colour scanning capabilities. Colour scanning can help customers reduce their margin for error, especially for documents that might lose meaning if colour portions are captured only in black and white.
These devices are also the first in their class to offer standard scan preview capabilities as well as the ability to scan to or print from a USB flash memory device.
Embedded Solutions Framework
These multifunction printers can also be enhanced with Lexmark`s new Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF), which is a platform that allows for the development of Java-based applications directly on Lexmark MFPs. In many cases, the Lexmark eSF eliminates the need for a server to run customised applications. Customers in large enterprise environments will benefit from this new scalable architecture because Lexmark`s eSF allows solutions to expand as more devices are added without the need for additional server expenses.

Leveraging the Embedded Solutions Framework, the new multifunction printers provide document tracking capabilities that enhance Lexmark`s Managed Print Services offerings. The new Embedded Document Accounting Solution provides comprehensive data on print, copy, fax and scan usage at each device.
Security
The Lexmark X644e, X646dte, X850e, X852e and X854e offer enterprise-level security options such as disk wiping, encryption, IPSec, SSL, SNMPv3, 802.1x and secure user authentication to help customers control information access and address other security concerns. Lexmark`s offerings enhance secure management, secure network communications and secure information storage to meet the needs of customers with high security needs.
X644e and X646dte
The Lexmark X644e offers the only colour touch-screen interface in its class. At up to 50ppm, it also claims the fastest print speed in its class. The Lexmark X644e has an estimated street price of R22 599.
The Lexmark X646dte also features up to 50ppm printing performance and includes advanced functionality such as scan preview standard. It also includes duplexing capability, a hard drive and an additional 1 000 sheets of input capacity. The Lexmark X646dte has an estimated street price of R29 099.
X850e, X852e and X854e
The Lexmark X850e prints at speeds up to 35ppm and handles A3 tabloid paper. It is the only MFP in its class to offer scan preview functionality standard. At 3 100 sheets, the Lexmark X850e also offers the largest standard paper input capacity in its class. The Lexmark X850e has an estimated street price of R67 199.
For departments with a need for even faster output, the Lexmark X852e offers up to 45ppm performance at an estimated street price of R83 199, and the Lexmark X854e prints at speeds up to 55ppm at an estimated street price of R93 599. Both offer the same functionality as the Lexmark X850e.
