Capitalising on customers` growing demand for colour output in the workplace, Lexmark International SA today introduced the Lexmark C912 colour printer that combines high performance and outstanding print quality with valuable versatility - all with an affordable street price and competitive cost per page.
The innovative Lexmark C912 uses in-line, or tandem, technology to produce vivid colour pages at an impressive speed. With this technology, all four colours (black, yellow, cyan and magenta) are transferred to paper in one pass at the full process speed, enabling users to print colour at the same rated speed as monochrome.
One of the great assets of the Lexmark C912 is its versatility. It can be used for:
* General office printing - to add highlight colour to memos, letters, forms or reports;
* Expanded graphic applications - new banner application allows users to print store signs on demand. Its ability to produce 12- by 18-inch output has many applications in schools or graphic design shops; and
* Vertical industry applications - whether used for architectural drawings in a manufacturing environment, retail shelf labels, or forms on demand in government offices, the Lexmark C912`s customisable functionality is nearly limitless.
"With the announcement of the C912, Lexmark provides superior performance and value relative to its leading competitor," commented Hans Horn, MD of Lexmark International SA. "This printer is well-positioned to support the growing demand for colour print-on-demand applications with its high-quality resolution and advanced paper-handling capabilities. The Lexmark C912`s versatility makes it indispensable to the office, its reliability makes it the go-to device for demanding workgroups and its affordability makes it as popular with the CFO as it is with the CIO."
The Lexmark C912 prints at up to 28 pages per minute in both colour and monochrome, and its cost per page in both colour and monochrome is lower than the comparable model from Lexmark`s leading competitor. It has three levels of colour toner saver and input capacity of 5 300 sheets. The Lexmark C912 can handle complex jobs due to its finishing capabilities that include stapling, hole punching and offset stacking, and it can handle numerous large jobs thanks to a rated maximum monthly duty cycle of 100 000 pages.
A networkable model, the Lexmark C912n is also available that has twice the memory and a 550-sheet tray. For a small premium, customers can acquire the Lexmark C912n with all the features of the networkable model plus the ability to further reduce output costs with duplexing capabilities. An additional C912fn model is also available that offers customers high quality output, networkability, duplex printing, additional paper capacity and comprehensive finishing capabilities. All models of the Lexmark C912 are available immediately.
The colour printing market continues to surge as customers increasingly demand and rely on colour in their businesses, a trend that includes the growing penetration of both colour laser and inkjet devices. Lexmark is ideally suited to capitalise on this trend as it is one of only two companies that owns and develops both colour laser and colour inkjet technology.
