LG eyes social networking

eBuddy, a Web and mobile instant messaging (IM) service, has inked a deal with LG Electronics to pre-install the J2ME mobile IM application, eBuddy Mobile Messenger, on 1.5 million LG handsets in the Asia-Pacific region, reports Trading Markets.

The eBuddy Mobile Messenger will be installed on LG handsets to be sold in India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia. Additional roll-outs in other regions are under discussion.

eBuddy Mobile Messenger allows the user to create a unique ID that can be used to login and access all major IM accounts including AIM, Facebook, Google Talk, ICQ, Yahoo and MSN Windows Live Messenger, using a single device.
