LG goes big at CES conference
PC Magazine reveals.
At its press conference, the company also displayed an updated Magic Remote with a Kinect-esque 3D gesture interface, and announced plans for its own chipset, the L9.
Android and Me says the LG Google TV features Cinema 3D technology, which works with passive 3D glasses and integration with LG's Magic Remote Qwerty, allowing users to control their TV with motion gestures, voice recognition and full keyboard input.
The OLED display, which had been anticipated, is just 4mm thick and is part of LG's 2012 home entertainment product lines announced at the show, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
“2011 was challenging for economies around the world, but was a pivotal year for LG,” said Wayne Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics USA.
LG's director of new product development, Tim Alessi, said that when it comes to 3D, “people vote with the pocketbook, and more and more of that is going toward passive 3D”.
