LG Electronics South Africa (LGESA) today brought the joy of the festive season - and Santa - to the children of Daveyton, with the first annual Christmas party since the electronics leader adopted Oliver`s House in August of this year.
Oliver`s House is a charity organisation situated in Benoni on the East Rand. The organisation was established in May 2001 and is home to 150 children, where some are infected and affected by HIV Aids.
The LG staff took it upon themselves to raise funds to benefit these children over and above the R32 000 donated by the company for the Christmas party.
"This year, we have really been blessed. LG adopted Oliver`s House in August and now they are making dreams come true for our children by donating R32 000 for this special event. For the first time, we will have money left in the budget in January to ensure the children have all their educational needs, school uniforms and books," says Terence Ferreira, Director at Oliver`s House.
"Oliver`s House is at the heart of LG and our success will translate into theirs. We see this home as an extension of the LG brand going forward," says Michelle Potgieter, marketing director of LG Electronics South Africa.
"We will continue to expand our commitment to community and educational-based investments in an effort make life great for the communities that we serve," concludes Potgieter.
