Korea`s LG Electronics says it has adopted an aggressive move into the North American market this year with the aim of winning one of the top three spots in the electronics, information and communication fields within the next five years.
"We need to continue our aggressive move towards cementing the premium status of the LG brand," SS Kim, LG`s newly appointed CEO, told those attending the annual opening of business ceremony. "This is what will lead us to the success we have aimed for, both in the US and the rest of the world."
Kim is confident LG will achieve the 20% growth rate target for this year. "This is the sort of growth we have experienced in the recent past, so there is nothing to say that it is not achievable in the future."
The global marketing strategy will be implemented by the new brand management team tasked with shifting LG`s focus to the 'Life`s Good` philosophy.
LG says it has already achieved 30% global brand recognition and has become one of SA`s most recognised electronics brands.
