The Rex Trueform Group has named Light Edge Technologies as its IT of choice. The move follows a two-year relationship during which the clothing manufacturer invested several million in upgrading its IT infrastructure.

A statement issued by Light Edge says the clothing industry is characterised by high margin pressure. Rex Trueform`s continued investment in IT underpins a sound IT designed to drive productivity, profitability and business agility in this highly competitive sector, says the company.

The Rex Trueform Group, which manufactures and markets clothing domestically and internationally, and retails clothing through its Queenspark chain, has more than 300 users on its various retail systems.

"In just over 18 months Light Edge has supplied the Rex Trueform Group with, among others, 12 Intel servers, 160 Emerald workstations, an SQL server and 25 ACCPAC licences," says Light Edge Technologies marketing director David Musikanth.

"Ours is a competitive industry known for its tight margins and dynamic trading conditions," says Gerald Radowsky, head of IT for Rex Trueform/Queenspark. "During our 65-year history we`ve learnt that strategic business partnerships are integral to success. Over the past two years we`ve forged a close relationship with Light Edge and today we view them as an extension of our team.

"We`ve repeatedly tested their support, skills base, delivery mechanisms, service and ability to adapt and innovate in line with the fast-paced change that is so typical of the retail industry. We have always been extremely satisfied with their products and service offering," Radowsky says.
