National IT solutions and services company, Lightedge, has appointed a new general manager in Gauteng to further increase its regional presence and support this growing branch.
From 2 May, Steve Dalgarno will head up Lightedge's Gauteng branch in Midrand.
"Lightedge has experienced phenomenal growth in our corporate business during the last six months. Building the capacity to deliver on our total IT infrastructure support services offering, Dalgarno will be pivotal in bedding down and advancing our new enterprise value proposition in Gauteng," says Grant Poulton, Lightedge managing director.
Dalgarno has a solid background of nine years in the local IT industry, coupled with a strong track record in the enterprise space and extensive management experience. Prior to his appointment, Dalgarno owned his own IT company after a two-year stint with Datacentrix. He also spent six years at Dimension Data as sales manager.
Dalgarno's vision for the Gauteng branch includes optimising its technical and logistical operations, appointing an external sales team to drive its enterprise offering, and managing the mindshift in terms of Lightedge's transformation from a distributor to a services and solutions company both internally and externally.
Dalgarno will also be responsible for ramping up the sales teams, and aims to double the revenues in the following 12 months.
"I am very excited about this opportunity and can't wait to take our new value proposition to market. The Gauteng market represents massive opportunities for growth in the enterprise space. Leveraging off Lightedge's successful technical services division and software development arm, Applied Concepts, we hope to unlock further potential, growing the staff complement by 20%," Dalgarno says.
