Linux Academy on Wheels

Johannesburg, 18 Oct 2005

Linux Holdings has opened a new training academy at the Innovation Hub in Pretoria and is planning a series of road trips countrywide to bring the same training to smaller towns in South Africa. Says managing director Kin le Roux: "As training academies in smaller towns simply do not make business sense, we started a new section in Linux Holdings that will concentrate on reaching smaller towns. We will bring to these students the exact same training that we offer in our training academies."

Linux Holdings has undertaken similar road trips to neighbouring countries with great success, according to Le Roux. "We are convinced that our South African road trip, which will start in Nelspruit, will be just as successful," he adds.

The company is in the final stages of adding a road trip section to its web site and will publish this as soon as the schedule for the road trip has been finalised. The "academy on wheels" concept, as well as the evening and weekend training offered by the Pretoria academy are key to Linux Holdings` strategy to extend its reach beyond the corporate market and make Linux training available to individuals, SOHOs and small businesses.
