Lionheart becomes Xerox XP

The local subsidiary of Xerox Channels Group (XCG) has accepted management consultant and business solutions provider, Lionheart, into its Xtraordinary Performer (XP) reseller programme.

Bengy Naggan, director of Lionheart, says the company pursues partnership agreements with major IT vendors in order to meet its obligations in terms of tender fulfilment. "Having been awarded numerous tenders to supply IT equipment, it makes good business sense to establish strong working relationships with our own suppliers that we might provide a better service to our customers."

The clients Naggan alludes to include the Gauteng government - through the mechanism of the GT11 tender, Transnet and several of the larger financial institutions. "We did, however, have a gap in our portfolio vis-`a-vis document management products."

Enter Donald Goldfain, GM at XGC SA, XGC believes the appointment the will give Lionheart the necessary support and infrastructure it needs to meet the increase in demand for Xerox and workgroup printers and multifunction devices from such clients.

The GT11 tender alone calls for Lionheart to supply computer and equipment to the Gauteng government in the next two years. "The key to unlocking the enormous potential of this contract is delivery - a function that demands the services and commitment of a supplier with a reliable and extensive national infrastructure," says Naggan.

"We assessed the alternatives in the document management market and chose Xerox for its superior technology product features, reliability and national support infrastructure," he explains.

All that remained was to fulfil the prerequisites for access into XCG`s XP programme which, among other things, included ensuring Lionheart possessed a certain minimum level of skills vis-`a-vis the XCG product range.

Goldfain admits to being impressed by Lionheart`s approach. "Compared to many other XPs, Lionheart is a small business with huge potential in the form of business it is vying for and tenders it has already won," he concludes.
