The launch of the Rio Volt, the first portable CD player in the family of Rio digital audio players, means that music enthusiasts can now store and play more than 250 songs on a single CD. The Rio Volt plays standard music CDs and recordable CDs containing MP3 and Windows Media Audio (WMA) files, and is available locally from official distributor Axiz.
"More people than ever are creating their own custom CDs from the music collections stored on their computers," says Graeme Frielick, graphics and multimedia product manager at Axiz. "The Rio Volt is ideal for people who enjoy creating personalised music CDs."
The Rio Volt supports high-capacity, low cost recordable CDs as a way to store personalised music selections, yet remains as simple to use as a standard CD player.
The Rio Volt features include a simple user interface, support for multiple music formats and skip-free listening.
Easy to use - Simply burn digital music MP3/WMA tracks from the PC to a recordable CD. Then just load the CD into the Rio Volt and hit play. No USB connection required.
Simple access to multiple file formats - The Rio Volt plays MP3, WMA and standard CDs and is upgradeable to support future music formats.
Skip protection - The Rio Volt features up to 120 seconds of shock protection, buffering the tracks to prevent skipping as well as increasing battery life.
Extended playtime - The Rio Volt has a playback time of up to 15 hours on two AA batteries and can hold over 20 hours of music on a single CD.
Enhanced display and navigation with backlit LCD - The ID3 text display includes track number, song name, artist name, folder (album title) and overall playtime. The Rio Volt also features quick and simple navigation through directories and can search tracks one by one or in blocks of ten.
The retail box includes: RioVolt portable digital audio CD player, eight-function remote control, high end earphones, manual and audio management software.
