Skandia Investment Solutions (SIS), a member of the Old Mutual Group, has won the 'best fund platform' award at the UK Platform Awards 2009.
This accolade, says the financial institution, recognises the achievement of the IT staff from Old Mutual SA, who were responsible for the development and maintenance of the SIS platform.
“This is a great result and we can be proud of the role that Global Edge, the Old Mutual IT subsidiary, played in co-creating this platform and delivering IT to the business,” says Eileen Wilton, CIO at Old Mutual SA.
According to Alfons Joubert, MD of Global Edge, the Global Edge team is based in Cape Town with a small operations support team in Southampton in the UK.
Joubert says: “Part of the winning formula of this solution is the focus of the Skandia executive team on the sales proposition as part of the platform. There is an ongoing process of updating the offering, coupled with a great collaborative approach between Skandia UK and the Global Edge team in Cape Town.”
According to Old Mutual, criteria for the award include scope, functionality, and administration and support excellence. Award winners are selected based on votes by financial advisers.
“We always aim to stay ahead with our platform proposition and here we have advisers confirming that Skandia is the best in class,” concludes Nick Poyntz-Wright, CEO Skandia UK.
