IT consulting and integration company, Logikal Consulting, has appointed Marc Fedder as its chief financial officer.
The position of financial director was previously held by Nola Rae, an outsourced finance specialist.
Fedder's immediate plan is to take on the previously outsourced financial function and implement a new accounting system.
"I am excited to be working with a company that has the scope of Logikal Consulting and I'm looking forward to help ensure sustainable and profitable growth."
His long-term goals are to provide a view of the company's profitability per project and maintain cost management across the entity to ensure the company remains profitable and continues to grow.
Gerald Naidoo, CEO of Logikal Consulting, says the decision to employ Fedder was due to the company's growth, which required a more permanent solution to address financial management.
"With our increasing footprint across Africa, we required someone with the experience to take our financial management to the next level."
According to Fedder, system development in the IT industry is very advanced and mature, with a number of companies providing similar services.
Customers are looking for the best value of services combining on-shore, off-shore and near-shore services at the best price, he says.
Therefore, it is imperative that a cost model is developed for each customer - to ensure the best possible price and mix is provided to meet their individual requirements, adds Fedder.
He has five years of completed articles, as well as four years of post-article experience in management roles.
Fedder has worked for DHL as assistant financial manager for Middle East and Africa, and was finance and compliance manager for SA. In addition, he worked for Scania as a business controller in charge of certain functions of management reporting, internal controls and functional lean procurement.
