Logitech appoints Square One as master distributor

Johannesburg, 10 Oct 2001

Desktop computing and human interface products vendor, Logitech, has expanded its marketing model in SA with the appointment of the JSE-listed Square One Solutions Group as an additional master distributor.

Shawn Bezuidenhout, sales and marketing manager at Logitech South Africa, expects Square One, which represents a number of best-of-breed product vendors, to complement Logitech`s marketing objectives.

"Square One is an ideal partner for Logitech with a philosophy which mirrors our own," he says. "It places an emphasis on value-added services and customer relationships which it backs up with a nationwide sales footprint and the appropriate technical and support skills."

Square One divisional manager, Lisa Jackson, says her company addresses markets in the , corporate and OEM sectors that are largely untapped in terms of their potential for Logitech offerings.

"Square One, with its established position in the local marketplace, will create a number of opportunities for Logitech products which are targeted at applications in both the home and office desktop arenas," she says.

"Logitech Web cameras, for example, make live broadcasting over the possible and also offer solutions in the business environment.

"Over and above this," Jackson continues, "the products are fun! No gaming environment is complete without Logitech products because they enable the user to feel what really happens on the racetrack or within a fighter aircraft cockpit."

Jackson adds that passionate, interactive products, used by people who demand the very best, require dedicated and passionate people to sell them.

"We have a number of new marketing programmes in place for our resellers that are designed to enthuse them and assist them to realise the full potential of our integrated product portfolio."
