Logitech brands in demand by OEMs

Logitech peripheral products are increasingly being adopted by blue chip computer vendors to complement their core offerings.

As a result, the Swiss-based company has expanded its range of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) offerings to include both cordless and optical mouses, cameras and speakers.

These are offered to OEMs as "Black Label" products, says Shawn Bezuidenhout, sales manager at Logitech South Africa. "They are identified by a discrete black Logitech logo which is designed to add value to the brand." Bezuidenhout revealed that Logitech is also poised to add to its "White Label" OEM range of mouses and keyboards: "These budget offerings retain the Logitech logo on the belly area to reinforce the product`s quality promise," he says.

In a related move, Logitech has announced plans to launch its Labtec brand of OEM offerings. These will consist of a large variety of desktop microphones, desktop speaker sets and PC headphones.

Logitech recently acquired Labtec, a US-based audio and multimedia peripherals and accessories vendor, together with its well-positioned and complementary range of PC offerings.
