Swiss-based computer accessories and peripherals manufacturer, Logitech, is to open an office in Woodmead, Johannesburg, in April.
"SA has been identified as one of the most promising and important countries for Logitech," says Robert van de Vegte, GM of Logitech SA, "because it is one of the fastest growing markets in ICT hardware and accessories. A local presence will allow us to better educate the channel distributors, to provide them with the tools to make more sales."
Logitech announced plans to create a local office more than a year ago, but legal issues delayed the process, he explains.
Logitech does not plan to use the office for distribution, and will retain all three of its local distribution channels - Pinnacle Micro, Rectron and Digital Chain Solutions.
Logitech`s plans involve further integrating digital lifestyle applications, Van de Vegte reveals. "We aim to simplify applications across digital platforms."
