Lorge training services boost Sage 300 ERP (Accpac) financial software users

Johannesburg, 20 Feb 2014

Companies need to take full advantage of the benefits accruing from state-of-the-art financial software solutions. To this end, business software specialist Lorge has a dedicated, in-depth and hands-on training service for companies using Sage 300 ERP software across a broad spread of commerce and industry.

"Our goal is to ensure that our customers are able to keep pace with changing technology and system updates," says Lorge CEO Derek Porter. "For the past 11 years, we have had a dedicated and highly experienced corporate training manager in Jo-Anne Parsons, who has 25 years of hands-on experience in the IT and accounting software industry."

Training for users of Sage 300 ERP solutions has been undertaken by Parsons in South Africa, Zambia, Mali, the Congo, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ghana, the UAE, Seychelles and Mauritius, to not only Lorge clients, but other software dealers clients as well.

Parsons says she does not train according to the manual. "I rather focus on ensuring that the people being trained are capable and well-equipped to do the job required of them. I have also trained deaf people, which is both challenging and rewarding as it requires considerable use of body language.

"The key is to generate excitement and motivation which enables trainees to be guided through any problem that may arise," says Parsons. "Body language expertise also assists to ensure all learners receive the best possible training as well as benefiting from a pleasant learning experience.

"Students don't leave my training until they have achieved complete competency. Extra training is provided for those who may falter, ensuring they achieve the required level of expertise. High energy levels ensure the students maintain their focus and interest in the training. Feedback from customers has invariably been very positive."

B&S Agencies, a Johannesburg-based major importer of foodstuffs that are supplied to major retailers, supermarkets and grocers, has received Lorge Accpac training from Parsons over the past seven years. Sonya Schaffner, a director at B&S, said the training provided by Parsons soon converted the "computer illiterate into computer fundis".

Schaffner added the training ensured all of the staff involved gained a complete understanding of what they were doing and why, as well as the process of navigating all of the software modules with ease and understanding.

"Her knowledge and compassion in guiding all directors and staff into understanding the system goes far beyond the call of duty," says Schaffner.
