To further boost acceptance of its Lotus/Domino mail migration package, Lotus development SA is offering a R1000 cash bonus as well as training and education services for resellers.
Recent IDC research states that for each dollar spent on Notes, eight dollars is devoted to product service and support - clearly another boon for the channel.
"This incentive gives VARs, business partners and distributors the opportunity to enrich their service offerings and financially gain as they migrate companies to our new dimension of electronic messaging, groupware and e-business," says Martin Smith, manager at Lotus Services SA.
"Many companies are also still using systems that are not Y2K compliant - another reason to migrate to Notes and Domino. The channel can now move away from a box-drop strategy and provide a set of services that compliments themselves and Lotus."
"As part of the migration package, Lotus is offering technical assistance during the migration from any e-mail package to Lotus Domino. We are also providing training for key users to utilise the best of what Notes has to offer," says Barry Vorster, education business development manager at Lotus Services SA.
The Lotus Mail Migration Pack is tailored for 50, 150 or 300 users. It includes all the software needed to set up a Lotus Domino server, with service and user training vouchers to master the applications. Client licenses need to be acquired separately under the Lotus Passport Advantage volume purchasing programme. Lotus offers a fixed price hassle-free start for business into the millennium.
