Company launches EuroGeneris range of telecomms systems for 4- to 128-extension infrastructures
Recognising the need for more advanced call centre technologies in small to medium-sized enterprises, Lucent Technologies Business Communications Systems (BCS) South Africa has brought the EuroGeneris V600 series to market.
The new range incorporates features previously only available in high end call centre systems. The units, purposely built for SMEs, allow standard voice and multimedia ISDN terminals to be used to improve a company`s scope and quality of communications. Support for the DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephony) standard is also included, as are computer-telephony integration (CTI) options.
"SMEs face the same customer relations challenges as large organisations, so why shouldn`t they have access to the same sort of technologies?" asks Sean Owen-Jones, regional manager at Lucent BCS.
"EuroGeneris offers companies with between 4 and 128 lines a viable means of managing their telephonic relationships with customers, without footing a `large enterprise solution` bill."
Available functions include caller name and number ID on ISDN - so customers are answered by name as soon as they call; call information transfer - so calls routed internally carry a message history; multimedia voice messaging - including voice, fax and e-mail; and off-premises forwarding - to
cellphones or other offices nationwide.
EuroGeneris also offers SMEs cost control tools. "Managers can monitor expenditure, breakdown and analyse costs, and produce customised reports, all in the Microsoft Windows operating system environment," explains Owen-Jones. Of all the features, Lucent BCS believes Dect connectivity will impact most positively. Mobility has become critical, says Owen-Jones, especially in the more informal and dynamic SME workplace.
"The EuroGeneris Mobility Dect 12 module allows for the full integration of 12 wireless handsets. This provides onsite communication for personnel who are not permanently based at one station or desk."
The new product range is available in scalable options - from the EuroGeneris CS (micro and compact system) for 4 to 24 extensions, to the EuroGeneris ACS, an advanced system capable of supporting 20 to 128 extensions.
Investment protection is guaranteed when growing from a EuroGeneris CS to ACS, adds Owen-Jones. "There is no need for an expensive system swap as additional users and applications - continuously developed by Lucent and Bell Labs - can simply be added to the EuroGeneris platform."
