Lucent Technologies Enterprise Networks Group signs new members for CRM Solutions Alliance Network

Johannesburg, 26 May 2000

The new Enterprise Networks Group to be spun off from Lucent Technologies announced today the addition of two associate members to its CRM Solutions Alliance .

Astound Incorporated, a leading provider of communication solutions that enable companies to communicate in real time with their employees, customers and partners and Austin Logistics Incorporated, a provider of decision support technology for call centers and financial management operations have signed on as Alliance members.

As part of the Alliance Network, the companies will focus on making their solutions work seamlessly with the Enterprise Networks Group`s Mosaix Predictive Dialing System. This will bolster the Mosaix system`s ability to work across a range of platforms so companies can incorporate it as part of an integrated CRM solution.

"We are delighted to add these key members to our growing roster of CRM Solutions Alliance Network members," said Kim Mackay, executive general manager, Enterprise Networks Group CRM Solutions. "In the quest to develop a true, fully-integrated, end-to-end solution, the Enterprise Networks Group has always believed that collaboration with creative, leading-edge players is the most effective way to lead. Together, we have the resources and expertise to produce best of breed solutions with an eye on the next generation."

The Enterprise Networks Group established the CRM Solutions Alliance Network last fall to build innovative, multi-vendor customer relationship management solutions for organizations worldwide. In addition to access to technology, expertise and lab time, Alliance membership also offers access to various Enterprise Networks Group marketing programs, sales programs, support programs as well as assistance in planning, consulting and management.

"Businesses are driving the customer care industry, and they want the latest technology to increase their productivity, efficiency and performance," said Carl Ramsey, director of International Operations, Austin Logistics.

"Through the CRM Solutions Alliance Network, the Enterprise Networks Group and Austin Logistics are uniquely positioned to lead the industry in the delivery of those new technologies. We are running extensive, performance driven tests on our product at the CRM Solutions Lab to ensure that CallTech, OnQ and CallSelect, our call center optimization software technologies, meet or exceed the highest standards."

"Astound`s products are designed to improve call center productivity by installing just-in-time metric updates, manager reports, and 'on-demand` training," said Heather Gamble, vice president, Astound Enterprise Contact Center. "Ensuring that our technology can be fully integrated with legacy systems and used in a broad range of settings has been something the Alliance Network has been instrumental in helping us achieve."

Austin Logistics and Astound Incorporated join existing Alliance members such as NICE Systems - a leading provider of quality management and integrated recording solutions that record customer service agent`s and web communications, call data, and desktop screens to capture the customer experience to ensure that customer service standards are being met.

The Enterprise Networks Group along with Austin Logistics, Astound and NICE Systems are conducting a five-city tour with a one-day seminar called: "A Higher Calling - Taking Your Contact Center to the Next Level". Tour dates are: May 23- Atlanta, May 24 - Houston, May 25 - San Francisco, June 5 - Chicago and June 6 - New York.

Lucent Enterprise Networks Group`s CRM Solutions Alliance Network provides on-going opportunities to members to create multi-vendor CRM offerings by working together with Enterprise Networks Group experts and resources. Combining knowledge, expertise and access to the Enterprise Networks Group`s state-of-the-art facilities, integration testing and support for multi-vendor CRM solutions, the Alliance is designed to work with members to develop cutting-edge solutions that help organizations put CRM at the center of their business strategies.
