Luuk ICT, TSS launch KwaZulu-Natal tourism portal

Johannesburg, 01 Apr 2008

Resident at The Innovation Hub, Luuk ICT, in conjunction with TSS (Team Storage Solutions), launched the Tourism KwaZulu-Natal (TKZN) tourism portal in February this year.

This is the second DNS (Domain Name System) portal developed by Luuk and TSS to go live - the first one was developed for the Gauteng Tourism Association.

The entire TKZN portal runs off Luuk's innovative modular-based intranet system called Business in a Box. The portal brings venues, products and consumers together by providing one central source to list and search for products.

Among many others features, travellers can use the portal to book accommodation, flights and rental cars. Thomson Tours provides the booking service for flights and cars, and for accommodation in hotels such as Protea and Holiday Inn.

The portal allows small businesses, including B&B (bed and breakfast) and lodge owners to list their businesses on the portal and generate online bookings.

This offers them easy access to a much broader client base than was previously possible. Tourists and other travellers seeking accommodation or other products can search the portal to find and book virtually anything and everything that they need for a successful trip.

TKZN also held an extremely well received indaba for business owners, product and service providers and travel agents, to list them on the portal.
