Deltalink Consulting, a Southern African distributor of Motive Systems, today announced the latter's M-Files 6.0, the latest release of the popular and easy to use software for organising and managing documents and other company information.
Document and information management technology has traditionally been complex and expensive, accessible only to large enterprises with extensive IT resources. M-Files changes that by focusing on ease of use without trading off features, making professional document management capabilities accessible to any company or organisation.
By providing a unique Windows Explorer interface, M-Files 6.0 offers unprecedented ease of use by enabling users to continue working the way they always have, opening and saving files directly from any Windows application.
In addition, M-Files is the only system to offer a 'virtual local' drive that provides significant advantages in performance and reliability over purely Web-based alternatives or systems that use traditional mapped network drives by allowing users to work from their local hard drive while a unique caching mechanism synchronises with the server in the background.
M-Files 6.0 significantly extends a professional feature set that includes fast search, secure user access permissions, check-in/check-out, version management, workflow and notifications, fast offline and remote use, support for scanners and e-mail, a Web interface and a flexible capability to connect to external databases and applications such as an existing CRM, ERP or billing systems.
"M-Files 6.0 marks a major milestone for us in our vision to make professional strength document management accessible to any company or organisation," commented Antti Nivala, CEO of Motive Systems. "Our primary goal has always been to make document management easy while also providing capabilities that rival the most sophisticated solutions on the market. M-Files 6.0 provides enhancements in almost every aspect from the core database with support for Microsoft SQL Server to multiple aspects of the user interface, reinforcing M-Files' position as the highest value document management solution available."
