A philosophy of meeting and exceeding customer expectations will continue to gain momentum at M-IT with the company recently being awarded ISO9001:2000 certification.
This sought-after accreditation not only assures customers that a company has a high-level Quality Management System (QMS) in place, thereby enabling it to meet customer expectations, but has also proven over the years to lead companies to better operations, improved performance and improved profitability.
M-IT Business Process Manager Anton Crous says the ISO9001:2000 certification will set M-IT apart from its competitors in the ICT industry, and instil confidence in its customers. Within M-IT, which is an EOH company, the certification clearly defines roles and responsibilities, ensuring that high-level objectives filter down to ground level.
"The responsibilities outlined in ISO9001:2000 call for a definite shift from achieving departmental goals to the entire company working together to exceed customer expectations," says Crous. There is an increased involvement of top management with regards to the QMS, starting with setting quality policy, goals and objectives. This continues with management reviewing data and taking action to make sure that quality goals are met, new goals are set, and continual improvement achieved.
"With the QMS in place and working for M-IT, the company is focused on quality goals," Crous says. "With clearly-defined business continuity, quality is constantly measured and the necessary controls ensure that defects are caught early and corrected. These procedures bide well with customer satisfaction."
The top reason, Crous adds, for a company registering for this certification is exceptional customer service. "Being ISO9001:2000 certified, M-IT has the edge on its competitors while its focus remains firmly on the customer."
