M-Web has launched a Web site aimed at helping subscribers make the most of the summer holidays.
The M-Web Summer programme includes an online summer section listing fun hot spots, entertainment directories and gig guides; restaurant guides and reviews; weather, surf and UV reports by region; chat sites; online bookings; and Webcams and information kiosks set up on eight popular beaches.
Webcams will show constantly updated pictures of the hottest summer fun spots. Cameras will be in place on Port Elizabeth`s Hobie Beach, Ballito`s Main Beach and Mossel Bay`s Diaz Beach from 12 December to 5 January. Cameras will be live on Gordon`s Bay`s Main Beach, Camps Bay`s Main Beach and Clifton`s 4th beach from 12 December to 13 January. Plettenberg Bay`s Central Beach cam and Margate`s Main Beach cam will be live until 5 January.
M-Web`s beach info kiosks will offer functionality such as accessing information about events, sending e-mail, having photographs taken and e-mailed to friends as a postcard, and taking part in competitions.
M-Web`s mobile service will deliver information from the M-Web summer site via SMS, WAP or interactive voice response. Users can choose to receive weather or surf reports directly to their mobile phones at specific times or have daily movie highlights and restaurant guides and reviews sent to them.
The site can be accessed via www.mweb.co.za. Information can be retrieved in more detail from any phone by calling M-Web`s information line on 082 16999. M-Web members can also send and receive e-mail from any phone via Speechmail or Wapmail.
