M5 to snap up Callfinity

protocol (VOIP) provider M5 Networks is set to acquire Callfinity, a contact centre software specialist, and will offer off-premise call centre solutions to enterprises, reports CRN.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed; however, M5 says it plans to market and support Callfinity's technology.

The acquisition is M5's second in recent months, according to Fierce VOIP. In November last year, the company bought hosted provider Geckotech.

The Callfinity acquisition will enable M5 to offer mid-size businesses advanced IP contact centre technologies; which M5 says are growing in popularity and have traditionally been prohibitively expensive as on-premise solutions, states PR Newswire.

M5 says it will extend the benefits of its contact centre technology, so that businesses can drive customer support throughout their organisations, not just in the contact centres.

Democrat and Chronicle.com says the move gives M5 access to Callfinity's technology and staff expertise, the capabilities of which M5 customers increasingly had been demanding for the parts of their operations dealing with customer calls, such as help desks.
