Madge fast tracks customer support and communications

Johannesburg, 10 Nov 1998
Madge Networks has announced that it has established a new communications centre, specifically to boost post-sales and value-added support for customers throughout Southern Africa,

"This is a new look at customer communications, as it has been established to provide a number of services, every one essential to the flow of information" explains Madge`s Kevin Barnard.

"We`ve called the service Madge Fastrac, as it is similar in many respects to the service provided by Madge for its customers in Europe. The difference being our plans to offer value-added services as a part of the package."

Madge Fastrac has been notably successful in Europe and as Barnard points out; "Regular contact with all our customers is at the top of our priority list."

In addition to being a conduit for mission-critical information, Madge Fastrac will also assist in first-line support and handle the broad spectrum of user requirements.

"During the start-up phase, the Fastrac team is contacting every Madge customer introducing themselves and updating the entries we have on our database. Thereafter, customers can expect regular, but unscheduled contacts as news, updates and value-added services become available."

Barnard stresses that Madge Fastrac is not a closed loop and that any non-Madge customer may request access to the information being disseminated. "This is a Token Ring environment and anyone wanting access to the data we provide is more than welcome to contact me."
