Madge Networks has concluded its business model restructuring exercise and has appointed USKO Communications as its value-added distributor for all Token Ring and video products.

"Our business model has changed significantly in recent months and it has became increasingly important to streamline our operations in Southern Africa," says Madge MD Peter Turvey. "We also needed to be certain that we maintained the service and support that has become our hallmark. During our discussions with USKO it became clear that both were possible."

USKO Communications MD Tom Pegrume explains how the transition will work: "From 1 July, we will assume the responsibility for both distribution and sales of Madge Token Ring and video products. Stock has been ordered and will be available from that date."

Pegrume says virtually all of Madge`s manpower resources will have joined USKO by 1 July, in order to maintain the existing level of pre- and post-sales support. "Every one of the technical and administration team has been employed by USKO and we are doing everything possible to ensure clients that business will continue as usual."

As part of the restructuring, Madge`s offices in Rivonia and Cape Town will close. To ensure client contact is not disrupted, Madge`s switchboard (011-807-2480) and toll-free (0860-100-297) telephone numbers will remain in use until further notice.
