Madge Networks to show latest IP-based Token Ring and video networking technology at CeBIT 99

Johannesburg, 19 Mar 1999

Madge Networks, a worldwide supplier of data, video and voice networking solutions, will present its latest Token Ring and video networking solutions at CeBIT, hall 11, stand F14, Hannover, Germany, 18-24 March 1999. Visitors will be shown how the inherent capabilities of Token Ring technology support new multimedia applications through efficient IP connectivity.

IP-based video conferencing over Token Ring LAN`s will be shown live in action via demonstrations of the new Madge Token Ring LAN Video Gateway, the first product of its kind for Token Ring networks.

In addition to support for IP applications, the future development of Token Ring technology will be a central theme. This includes information on the evolution of Gigabit Token Ring, the development of layer three switching and an examination of the economic advantages of upgrading to High Speed Token Ring (HSTR) and switched Token Ring.

Additional show highlights include Madge`s next generation ATM backbone switching with the Collage 750 switch, TrueView/32 Enterprise management software for Token Ring and the Smart Ringswitch Express and Smart Ringswitch Plus switches.
