Johannesburg-based Magix Integration has opened an office in Cape Town to enable it to effectively support customers in the region. The new company, Magix Integration Cape (Pty) Ltd, is a 50/50 joint venture between Magix and Norman Webster, formally of Metrofile.
"Magix has always dealt with Cape Town companies from our head office in Johannesburg. However, with an increasing emphasis generally on corporate governance and risk management, and with growing business pressure from certain businesses in the Western Cape for us to establish a local presence it has made it imperative for us to expand our footprint," says Magix Integration director, Amir Lubashevsky.
With years of business experience as well as long-term exposure to the corporate governance and risk management arena, Lubashevsky says Webster was a perfect match for the task in Cape Town. Webster will be joined by his son Matthew Webster, who has taken on the role of business development manager. Together they will also expand the company`s sphere of influence into the Northern and Eastern Cape provinces.
"Corporate governance and risk management have become important issues in every industry today," says Webster. "To start with, Magix Integration Cape will specifically target the retail, oil, government and financial services markets in the Western Cape as these organisations are more aware of the criticality on these issues and have expressed interest in our solutions in the past. Of course we will not turn customers from other disciplines away."
The office is already in operation and is geared to handle presales and sales functions for Magix Integration. The company`s support services and technical skills will remain with the Johannesburg office for the moment.
Webster says this will change as soon as the Cape office is able to recruit and train the appropriate staff. "By the end of the year the Cape Town office will be a fully functioning sales, service and support office dedicated to the Cape region."
