Magix Integration is set to help companies further strengthen their security against their greatest risk, the threat from within, when they launch to the security and risk community a new product and solution offering at Microsoft`s Tech Ed Africa 2009, to be held in Durban from 2-5 August 2009.
"Almost every week we see companies being damaged by the unscrupulous actions of their employees who often act in collusion with outside parties. Businesses do not realise that if the public`s trust is broken, then their very existence will be under threat and their brand sometimes irrevocably damaged," says Hedley Hurwitz, managing director of Magix Integration.
"Sophisticated IT solutions coupled with the correct company protocols and staff well-versed in enterprise risk management will go a long way in reducing the threats it faces on a daily basis."
Endpoint security and password management are two key areas of high risk in the public and private sector. "To tackle the vulnerability of the endpoint on company networks, we are introducing Safend Encryptor, which eliminates data leakage via desktops and laptops," continues Hurwitz. "Enterprise password management is an ongoing challenge requiring companies to minimise the risk of using the same password on a daily basis. To address this, we will formally announce a software integration initiative from Lieberman Software that will enable its privileged account management solutions, Enterprise Random Password Manager and Random Password Manager, to seamlessly integrate with Microsoft System Centre."
Safend Encryptor utilises Total Data Encryption technology that automatically encrypts all data files, while avoiding unnecessary encryption of the operating system and program files. This innovative concept minimises the risk of operating system failure and has a negligible performance impact.
Leveraging on this unique encryption technology, Safend Encryptor provides transparent hard disk encryption and seamlessly protects data without changing any existing end-user or helpdesk workflows.
In addition, Safend Encryptor provides true SSO (Single Sign-On) functionality and uses the Windows login interface for user authentication, requiring no changes to work processes.
Random Password Manager integrates with Microsoft System Centre, allowing companies to monitor and control all privileged accounts through one centralised management console.
The Lieberman and Microsoft integration initiative provides enterprise organisations with the ability to securely manage powerful privileged accounts from within the System Centre environment. Specifically, Lieberman Software provides management packs for Enterprise Random Password Manager and Random Password Manager, as well as privileged account password management directly from the consoles of Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager 2007 and Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager 2007.
Lieberman Software`s privileged account password solutions extend the value of the Microsoft System Centre infrastructure in three key ways:
* Confirms regulatory compliance and service level completion
* Alerts administrators to privileged account activity
* Retrieves administrator passwords directly from Microsoft System Centre console
Magix Integration is a Microsoft solution centre sponsor and has been distributing and supporting US-based Lieberman Software`s Random Password Manager solution since May 2009 and Safend`s product range since 2006 in South Africa.
