Majority miss work training
Learning solutions provider Thomson NETg has discovered a massive 83% of employees are choosing work commitments over their own professional development.
From a survey of 100 workers, results showed that a vast majority are still experiencing training as scheduled lessons, which a last minute request or an unexpected deadline can disrupt entirely.
Changes in the way that people access information are also contributing to a move away from structured, scheduled training for some people.
Foundation doctors start e-learning
The British Medical Journal (BMJ) Publishing Group has launched a new broadband learning service for junior foundation doctors and their clinical tutors, e-Health Insider reports.
This is the first service aimed at helping foundation level one and two junior doctors with meeting the curriculum requirements of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Department of Health syllabus.
The learning programme enhances learning by using multimedia learning modules such as simulation modules and diagnosis modules.
E-learning starts in Qatar girl`s school
An e-learning project, named eSchoolbag, has commenced at Al Wakrah Independent School for Girls in Qatar, Gulf Times reports.
The eSchoolbag package will provide each student with a tablet PC that allows note taking, sharing and editing of information electronically.
It includes e-contents on science, maths, and English, which will be used by teachers as ready-to-use materials mapped to the Qatari curriculum standards and allow them to customise and add their own materials to fit their students` needs.
