
Telkom is experiencing problems with its mobile transactional services, including airtime recharges for customers.
The company says it is currently unable to provide any mobile transactional services, and both transactions through USSD services and through Telkom partners have been impacted.
"The problem is related to a hardware failure," Telkom said in a statement a short while ago.
"Our engineers and vendors are working towards restoring all functionality as quickly as possible."
Telkom says it will continue to communicate updates throughout the restoration process and apologises to customers for the inconvenience.
Update
Telkom says its mobile transactional service functionality has been restored, with an exception of prepaid BlackBerry monthly subscription renewals. It warns slow response may be experienced by customers due to the processing of backlogged transactions.
