Makro, Gestetner bring affordable printing to SMEs

Gestetner SA, in association with retail giant, Makro, has launched an `ownership through rental` model for small and medium enterprises.

This means a range of entry-level colour and mono printers and multifunctional devices (MFP) are now available on a fixed monthly contract, and no deposit is required.

Alan Austin, national sales manager, says: "Small business owners will be able to define both the total cost of ownership and the monthly outlay which makes budgeting easy, transparent and completely controllable. Furthermore, there is no deposit or initial cash outlay required.

"I think that between Makro and ourselves we are providing the perfect mix of great technology and financial ease and we are reducing taxable income as an added benefit," he says.

On studying the dynamics of the average cellphone contract, Gestetner SA found it to be the ideal model for delivering its products and services to the SME market.

"Gestetner SA offers enterprise-grade printing solutions," says Austin. "We don`t compete against the average cheap and cheerful desktop printer, which means Gestetner is often not a consideration for smaller or start-up businesses who could really benefit from our superior products."

Austin says the new fixed monthly cost model has advantages for all parties. "Gestetner`s products become accessible to the developing SME market, Makro further entrenches itself as the ideal one-stop shop for small businesses market and the customer gets a really great deal."

Each print package, which range from R399 per month for 1 000 prints to R2 499 for 6 000 prints, includes a free laser printer or multifunctional device, free delivery, installation, free toner and insurance as well as a three-year maintenance plan which includes same day onsite assistance from a qualified technician.
