, it has been suggested that the government of Barbados and its counterparts in the rest of the Caribbean mandate every company - regardless of size - to have business continuity plan in place, reports Miy Vue.

This recommendation has come from Bob Turnbull, a business continuity management expert who has spent the last few years providing consulting and software solutions for companies in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean on this issue.

According to IT Business Edge, big events - such as earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis - tend to galvanise companies to look at their disaster recovery and business continuity plans. But organisations must approach these issues carefully.

Meanwhile, Redio5 states that planning for continuity of operations is the basic need of each company to achieve a secure future, even in dire conditions.

If a company or business does not follow up before the company comes under various circumstances, either by nature or by public employees, the pre-planned strategies help maintain the reputation of a company that helps in finding a good opportunity and treatment.
