A specialised programme introduced by communications specialist Marconi will enable healthcare organisations to provide a higher standard of healthcare while simultaneously increasing efficiencies.
The E*NABLE Services Program for Healthcare delivers broadband networks which support voice, video and data communications within a single facility, across multiple facilities in the same group, or even across multi-hospital systems.
Koos Vorster, chief executive of Marconi Communications South Africa (MCSA), says the programme will significantly benefit the company`s customer base. "We will tailor E*NABLE for Healthcare solutions according to individual client needs, thereby ensuring that each client`s specific requirements are met."
MCSA will provide turnkey solutions, develop security strategies for established networks and manage network engineering and installation engagements.
"Today`s healthcare organisations are facing the challenge of planning, building and operating networks that can keep pace with rapidly evolving technologies," Vorster says. "It is our strategic objective to grow MCSA`s market share in the local healthcare industry, and E*NABLE for Healthcare is key to achieving that goal."
Marconi has already signed a two-year agreement with AmeriNet, the largest membership-based healthcare group purchasing organisation in the US. Under the agreement, Marconi`s Intelligent Broadband Networking enabled healthcare solutions will be promoted to AmeriNet`s 14,000 member facilities. These include hospitals, medical group practices, nursing homes, surgery centres, managed care organisations, pharmacies and integrated delivery networks.
The E*NABLE Services Program for Healthcare offers:
Marconi`s Intelligent Broadband Networking equipment;
Project management, integration and installation services;
On-site and Web-based network support;
Business and market assessment; and
Financial assistance through leases and loans.
