With the introduction of Marconi`s ES-1300 Standalone Gigabit Ethernet Switch, organisations are now able to increase bandwidth more effectively by aggregating traffic from lower-speed switches and content servers.
The ES-1300 is the newest member of Marconi`s family of switches that deliver unprecedented functionality and performance to the edge of Ethernet networks.
George Debbo, technical director of Marconi Communications South Africa (MCSA), says the expansion of multimedia business applications is driving enterprises to manage networks which are growing in complexity and bandwidth demand.
"Intelligent management of the bandwidth demand must be a part of any networking solution that controls costs while delivering top performance," he says. "The ES-1300 helps the enterprise optimise its resources by putting more muscle and intelligence at the network edge.
"The ES-1300 continues Marconi`s drive to deliver more intelligence and functionality to the edge of Ethernet networks, thereby giving network managers the power to increase bandwidth in a cost-effective manner. "
