Marcus Evans goes with new DataPro software

Marcus Evans, the international events management company, has signed a contract with premier Internet service provider (ISP), DataPro, which will see it make use of DataPro`s Managed Newsletter Service.

"Using our News Manager software, an intuitive and clever content management system developed in-house, we produce and distribute the newsletter on their behalf and send reports on profiling based on surveys and link tracking results," said Margaret Cubitt, Consultant: Electronic Communications at DataPro.

In terms of the contract, Marcus Evans will disseminate information about upcoming events and simultaneously build on its knowledge of clients` needs and fields of interest through highly targeted surveys entrenched into the newsletters.

"In the business world of tomorrow, price, product and service are going to be a given. The customer will expect everyone to offer a very similar `package`. The market leaders will be those companies who understand this, and then find creative ways to invite their customers to participate in their business, eg through effective electronic communication.

"Being an ISP is no longer just about supplying bandwidth - it is also about providing value-added services."

Fast replacing paper mail, electronic communication cuts costs considerably.

DataPro is offering two solutions to clients` electronic communication needs:

* A managed service whereby the company produces and distributes the newsletter on the client`s behalf and sends reports on profiling, based on surveys and link-tracking results.

* A DIY option in which the rented NewsManager software is used to create the newsletter, update the Web site and distribute to multiple groups through a Web-based interface.
