Mark Wilson, Managing Director of Fujitsu Siemens Computers South Africa, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Middle East and Africa region for Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
This appointment is effective from 1 April. He will initially continue as Managing Director of South Africa (which also includes English-speaking Africa) until a successor is appointed in this role.
"The new position will be extremely challenging and I am excited at the opportunities that it offers," says Wilson. "It will mean that my focus has to be extremely broad and that I will not be able to be as directly involved in the day-to-day operations in South Africa as I have been. I am fully confident that the team in South Africa are competent and I expect to see them maintain the momentum already established.
"I will still have a large degree of contact with the South African team although my new role will include a new responsibility which includes territories in North Africa and the Middle East. I will need to rapidly gain an understanding of these territories and I do expect to be doing a substantial amount of travelling between the various countries."
Wilson's career with the Siemens Group spans 12 years, during which he has held positions in financial and sales management. He was appointed Managing Director of Fujitsu Siemens Computers in 2002.
