Marstec Mobile Information Solutions, part of the Marstec Holdings Group, has announced the availability of a fully configured mobile solution for sales and service applications using the new Nokia 9210 Communicator.
An increasing number of corporations are realising the potential of mobile solutions to improve competitiveness and overall effectiveness. Now, for the first time, technology has matured to provide a complete mobile solution on an integrated device with low communication cost, reliability and capable of easy integration to a variety of platforms including SAP R3.
A number of Marstec clients are already looking at migrating to this upgraded solution, including Nu Metro Video, an entrant in this year`s Logistics Achievers Awards.
Marstec`s mobile solutions now enable clients to run a complete customised sales system including merchandising, field sales and marketing, CRM applications, inventory management and debtors.
The new Nokia 9210 is a robust, easy to use device, with a vivid active matrix colour screen. It has extremely long battery life and a Windows look and feel. It will run video clips and will be sold with a digital camera to the first 100 000 clients. It uses the advanced operating system known as Symbian OS (EPOC) recently developed by a consortium including Nokia, Psion, Matsushita, Motorola and Ericsson.
While mobile solutions have proven difficult to integrate, Marstec has achieved success with its clients, after considerable investment of skills and knowledge.
Corrie de Jonge, Mobile Technology Director of Marstec, says: "Marstec has been a successful provider of mobile solutions for some time now and this new platform keeps us ahead in providing a variety of competitive edge solutions for our clients."
