MST (Maintenance System Technologies) the Pretoria-based Enterprise Asset Management solutions provider, today announced that MAXIMO has been successfully implemented at the Estates Division of the University of Natal.
The university has selected MAXIMO for all its facilities management and building services at its Pietermaritzburg campus.
The objective of the implementation was to implement MAXIMO with core maintenance functionalities. A decision was taken that interfacing and Web-enabled functionalities to all users would be done in the next financial year. The shortened implementation time enabled the Estates Division to take immediate advantage of the benefits of MAXIMO. Customisation was restricted to a minimum, resulting in rapid time to benefit.
The Estates Division provides an extensive facilities management service to the Pietermaritzburg campus of the University of Natal. Services rendered include the development and maintenance of buildings, grounds and gardens, sports grounds and facilities, cleaning operations, asset management and functions setting. Other services include pest control; fire fighting detection, equipment upgrading and maintenance and the management and maintenance of the university`s pool vehicles.
Warren Forsyth, Estates Manager, who acted as Project Manager for the duration of the implementation, commented that before selecting MAXIMO, the Estates Division used an in-house system to coordinate the facilities management and building services at the Pietermaritzburg campus.
