Having identified the essential storage requirement attached to intricate industrial designs, Maxtec Limited has furthered its influence into this market with a value added reseller (VAR) agreement to represent IBM`s CATIA Solutions portfolio.
From 1 September onwards, Maxtec will provide an integrated CAD/CAM/CAE solution. The deal will see Maxtec Global Services provide current and future CATIA users with hardware infrastructure and software support, as well as the necessary training, site maintenance and upgrading of the solution.
The IBM / Dassault CATIA engineering software gives clients a range of solutions that cover all aspects of product design and manufacturing, as well as enterprise competitiveness, task productivity and process improvement.
"This market is not new to Maxtec. The group has been servicing the end user of the software spectrum with a product called CADDs 5, through our CAS business unit. The support of the CATIA solution is in line with our strategic intention to expand our storage offering since this offers Maxtec an inroad into an untapped demand for high-end storage solutions - ensuring us of multilevel growth opportunity," explains Chief Executive of Maxtec George Talbot.
"Its leading edge solutions for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering, including data management, letting its users achieve their digital product development and simulation goals," explains Maxtec`s support team "You can easily implement all changes on the digital model for a concurrent optimisation of design and manufacturing; reducing the risk of late, expensive modifications and the number of iterations, by developing right the first time."
The automotive, aerospace, manufacturing and engineering industries require a solution that provides an open, distributed information environment, that helps manufacturers flexibly and transparently control and distribute all types of product development information from engineering to IT to sales and marketing.
Maxtec`s good growth confirm that over the past decade the demand for storage has increased significantly as modern applications with graphic intensive files and other advanced software have become popular. "Maxtec has positioned itself as one of the leaders in digital data storage in South Africa, and we believe the synergies between the group`s offerings and the CATIA solution will lead to Maxtec`s rapid penetration into this new market," concludes Talbot.
