The Maxtor OneTouch II drive requires no technical knowledge to set up, says Mike Williams, marketing VP for Maxtor`s branded products.
He says the new product features simpler backup with click-through installation and automatic configuration, a DriveLock feature that enables password protection for added security, a three-step restore process, recovery up to two weeks back in time, automatic storage space management, and a wizard-driven graphical user interface.
The drive connects to computer systems using either an IEEE firewire or USB connection, and is available in 200, 250 and 300GB capacities.
The new backup solution includes a special edition of Dantz Retrospect backup software.
"[This] is a significant achievement in consumer data protection, combining true backup power and honest ease of use," says Larry Zulch, Dantz CEO.
Maxtor distribution partner, Sahara Computers, markets the Maxtor OneTouch II locally.
