McAfee, a Network Associates business, today announced the McAfee AVERT (Anti-Virus Emergency Response Team) Wireless, the industry`s first wireless Web service that enables mobile phone users to access the latest information about Internet viruses and malicious code.
The AVERT Wireless service offers users with Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)-enabled mobile phones to receive up-to-the-minute information on the latest virus threats. WAP is the de-facto world standard for wireless information and telephony services on digital mobile phones and other wireless terminals.20
