McAfee broadens offerings
McAfee has embarked on a $465 million acquisition for Secure Computing, making the combined company one of the largest network security players in the industry, says Channel Web.
When completed, the acquisition will add Secure Computing's 22 000 customers and more than 2 000 channel partners to those of McAfee's for a total customer base of 125 000 customers and more than 20 000 partners.
Atri Chatterjee, senior vice president of marketing for Secure Computing, says that the process for integrating the two companies would likely take a minimum of one year to 18 months once the deal closes.
Secured Digital unveils partner programme
Secured Digital Applications, a provider of mobile communications, outsourced business and information technology consulting services, has reveals it's channel partner programme as part of the company's global roll out strategy for BluberMax and BluberChat services, says Market Watch.
The channel partner programme will complement Secured Digital Applications' sales operations by leveraging qualified channel partners in specific market segments.
Under the programme, channel partners will have access to the Company's technical and marketing materials as well as sales support.
LXE partners with ScanSource
LXE, a distributor of point-of-sale solutions, has made a distribution agreement with ScanSource POS and Barcoding that will extend the availability of LXE's products in the high-growth distribution channel, says Market Watch.
Bill Roeder, senior vice president and general manager of LXE, says: "This agreement is a significant step in the development of our indirect business, which over recent years has grown to be more than half of our revenues and we believe that our relationship with ScanSource will contribute to our continued success by strengthening our presence in channel.”
According to industry analyst firm VDC, rugged mobile computers shipped through indirect channels are forecast to outpace the overall rugged mobile computer market and by 2012, these sales are expected to account for more than 50% of all revenues in this market.
