Social networking sites, applications, and tools are making it easier for cyber criminals to develop malware.
To curb this, McAfee has rolled out its content security blade server which has Web and e-mail security. McAfee is expanding its blade strategy with the HP BladeSystem as the platform for delivering McAfee's gateway security solutions.
"As Web use continues to grow and evolve, so do Web-borne malware attacks," says Jayson O'Reilly, regional manager for Africa at McAfee.
"IT departments and budgets are being stretched thin and enterprises need to streamline management of systems and reduce the complexity of their data centres. With McAfee Web Gateway on the HP BladeSystem, organisations can achieve operational savings and stay ahead of the latest threats."
McAfee has included the HP c3000 and HP c7000 chassis as its M3-class and M7-class products. It has also added the McAfee Web Gateway appliance with a next-generation anti-malware engine to e-mail security protection offered in the McAfee Content Security Blade Server.
McAfee Web Gateway offers next-generation anti-malware protection from McAfee Avert Labs, including real-time behavioural detection of Web 2.0 malicious mobile code, attack exploit detection without a signature, and true context-based threat detection.
Jim Jackson, HP vice-president of marketing and solutions, infrastructure software, and blades, says: "To mitigate business risks, customers need to guard against malware, spam and harmful viruses that are often associated with unlimited Web access and the large amounts of data produced from applications like e-mail.”
